Master 13-card Indian Rummy: pure sequence rules, drop strategy, joker management and bankroll tactics that consistently win cash on SH7.

The rules in 60 seconds

13-card Indian Rummy uses two decks plus jokers. Each player is dealt 13 cards. The goal: arrange all 13 into valid sets and sequences, with at least one pure sequence (no joker) and one more sequence with or without joker.

Scoring

Face cards = 10 points each. Aces = 1 point. A valid declaration scores zero; the losing players score the value of their unmelded cards, capped at 80 in pool rummy.

Drop strategy

First-drop costs 20 points, middle-drop 40, last-drop 80. If after your initial 13 cards there is no pure sequence opportunity and high-value cards, first-drop is mathematically correct.

Joker management

Never use a joker in a sequence you could complete naturally — save jokers for sets and second sequences. The opponent dropping early often telegraphs joker scarcity.

Discard reading

Watch what each opponent discards in rounds 2–4. They will rarely discard a card adjacent to one they need. Adjusting your draws based on opponent discards is the single biggest skill edge.

Bankroll rules

For point-rummy, never play a table where one round can cost more than 2% of your bankroll. Variance is brutal in rummy; bankroll preservation > occasional big wins.
